What is a BICROS Hearing Aid?

A BICROS hearing aid (Bilateral Contralateral Routing of Signal) is designed for individuals who have little or no hearing in one ear and some level of hearing loss in the other. It works by using two devices:

• A microphone on the non-hearing (deaf) ear

• A receiver and amplifier on the better ear

The microphone picks up sound from the deaf side and transmits it wirelessly to the better ear, allowing the user to hear from both sides of their environment. The BICROS system also amplifies sounds in the better ear if needed, making it ideal for complex hearing loss cases.

Benefits of BICROS Hearing Aids

People who use BICROS hearing aids report significant improvements in daily life. Key benefits include:

• Improved awareness of sounds from both sides

• Better communication in noisy environments

• Reduced listening effort

• Comfortable design with modern, wireless technology

This technology is particularly useful for professionals, students, and anyone who needs clear directional hearing throughout the day.
